Coca-Coleridge: The View from Cape Town
International Coleridgean manifestations are always welcomed at www.friendsofcoleridge.com. Keep 'em coming.

Our Special Correspondent, Peter Anderson, writes:
The attached is not at all what you're looking for as a photo for the site, I know, but the sight of this (what we call) 'cafe' in Coleridge Street, Salt River, Cape Town, a thoroughly run-down, prominently Muslim neighbourhood, performed on me its secret ministry... Within the emporium all is opiately bosky: sweet scents of tobacco and chewing gum, dark recesses, half loaves of generic bread... And shut on Friday middays when the muezzin calls, of course. I feel I should buy shares and suggest a revamp as 'Xanadu Pleasure Dome'. We'd add sinuous (f)rills and a pinball machine or two, perhaps get in a dulcimer act on saturday nights.
PS: It's very likely the current storekeeper's name is Khan.
