Technical Help: browser refreshing.

 

Internet browsers are set to store previously visited web-pages in memory to save the download time on having to reload them on future visits.

 

To be sure you are viewing the latest version of the page (if your browser is not set to do this automatically) please do the following:

 

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 users

1. Open the View Menu
2. Select Refresh
 

Netscape Navigator 7 users

1. Open the View Menu
2. Select Reload
 

To set your browser to read automatically the latest version of any page you are looking at please do the following:

 

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 users

1. Open the Tools Menu
2. Select Internet Options
3. Choose tab marker General
4. The 2nd box down is headed Temporary Internet Files
5. Click on the right hand button Settings
    A new panel will open with the header:
    Check for newer versions of stored pages
6. Select the top option:  ·     Every visit to the page.

Netscape Navigator 7 users

1. Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
    See the Advanced category (near the bottom of a vertical column on the left)

2. Double click on Advanced to expand this into subcategories. You may need to be vigorous here - it can take a few repeat clicks, but persevere until the full subcategories expand, and you see Cache.

3. Click on Cache
4. The Cache preferences panel has the header:

    Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network:

              Select  ·     Every time I view the page
